About the Artist
Hello, my name is Rebecca & I am the artist behind Woodstove Studios. I was born to a hearing family as the majority of deaf children are. Raised orally in a small town, I was the misfit. Our old house had a wood burning stove and I would watch the flames dance while scribbling in my sketchbooks. Art was the first language I truly understood, as I was not introduced to Deaf Community & Culture until college. While learning sign language, I picked up a wood burner for the first time.
Combining my passions of nature, art & advocating for disabled communities into one business is what makes it so special to me. Each piece I create with the hopes it will make your house feel like a home.
